Restore Peekskill’s Foundation Aid

Help us lobby state representatives and our governor to restore promised foundation aid to our district!

Currently we are owed $10 million based on the state’s own formula. Imagine what our schools could do with these funds!

On December 8th we will deliver a packet of letters to Senator Murphy (in person), and copy Assemblymember Galef and Governor Cuomo. We would like these letters to come from parents, teachers, administrators and students.

Please help us in this effort by submitting a letter for the packet! Download a sample letter here, or write your own. For example, you could write about your child’s experience in our schools and include details about how more funding would help (lower class sizes, more college courses in high school, etc.).

Please print out your letter, sign it, and drop it off at the Admin office at 1031 Elm Street, or email your completed letter to branwenmacdonald@peekskillpto.org to be included in the packet.

If you would like to join us at Senator Murphy’s office, we are gathering at the Admin Building (1031 Elm St) at 3:45pm on Thurs., Dec. 8th. Or meet our group directly at the Senator’s office at 691 East Main Street, Jefferson Valley, by 4:30 pm.
