Functional Committees

The everyday work of our PTO is accomplished by our functional committees. For detailed information about current projects or to sign-up, please email the relevant committee chairperson.

Be the voice for our children. The goal of this committee is to advocate for, promote, and support the education, health, and success of all children and youth of the Peekskill City School District.

This committee will meet on the following Sundays at 10am in the Peekskill Coffee House: 9/17, 10/15, 11/19, 12/17, 1/21, 2/18, 3/18, 4/15, 5/20, and 6/17; and on Monday, 10/2 at 6:30pm in the BOE Conference Room.

Class Parents
Chair: Jen Carbaugh
Do you love hands-on work with kids and teachers? We are looking for enthusiastic parents to help organize classroom activities and support the faculty in our elementary schools.

Chair: Isabel Pipolo
Calling all social media lovers and design gurus! We are looking for volunteers to help with publicity and community outreach. This committee will collaborate with the district to represent the public face of the PTO.

This committee will meet on the following Tuesdays at 10:30am in the Administration Building BOE Room: 9/12, 10/17, 1/30, 3/13, and 5/15.

Are you good with numbers? Join the Finance Committee to help prepare our budgets, financial reports, and tax returns.

This committee will meet on the following Tuesdays at 6:30pm in the PKMS library: 10/17, 1/23, 3/20, and 5/22.

Can you think of creative ways to raise money? Your efforts will enable our students to have enrichment experiences beyond what is covered under the school budget.

This committee will meet on the following Tuesdays at 6:30pm in the PKMS Library: 10/2, 12/11, 1/8, 2/12, 3/12, 4/9, 5/14, and 6/11.

Special Events & Enrichment
Chair: Mia Shervington
Do you know how to throw a party? Have an idea for a fun event? Our goal is to coordinate activities throughout the year that will reinforce a positive relationship between the school district, families and the community. In addition to planning events, we will also be working to provide school-based enrichment programs for students of all ages.

This committee will meet on the following Mondays at 7pm in the PKMS library: 9/11, 10/16, 11/20, 12/18, 1/22, 2/12, 3/12, 4/9, 5/14, and 6/11.
