Our Mission

We are a diverse and enthusiastic group of parents and teachers, working to build an exceptional school community for the benefit of all district children. Our PTO operates as a district-wide organization, serving every school in Peekskill, from preK through high school.

We coordinate class parents, organize enrichment programs, volunteer in our schools, host special events, enhance positive communication between schools and parents, raise money to support the school district, and advocate for a quality education for every child. We encourage all parents to get involved in the PTO!


The Peekskill City School District Parent-Teacher Organization is a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit organization.

Our mission is to:

  • Build bridges between teachers, families and the community
  • Enhance cultural enrichment, environmental, social and project-based opportunities above & beyond classroom academics
  • Advocate for a quality education for every child


Who Can Join?
If your child is enrolled in any Peekskill public school, you are automatically granted membership in the PTO. No dues are required.

We urge all parents to become active members by attending our monthly meetings, joining one of our committees, volunteering for a special event, or helping out as a class parent!


PTO General Monthly Meetings
Our monthly meetings feature town hall discussions between parents, faculty, and administrators. Some meetings will also include special theme nights or guest speakers. Attending meetings is a great way to meet other parents, get to know building leaders and district staff, and find out about all the great happenings in our school district. All general meetings will be held on Thursdays, from 7-8:15pm in the Administration Building at 1031 Elm Street.
